Couples and Marriage Counseling:
Problem Diagnosis – Online Psychotherapy
This is a cycle of 8 meetings for a partnership or marital relationship that has lasted at least a year. The purpose is for the couple to identify the problem and then observe at which levels it occurs. Difficulties often take the form of disruptions in communication, attitudes towards each other, freedom of self-expression, or trouble establishing intimacy.
Relationship Difficulties Areas
There is often family counseling, which is not psychotherapy, but provides a basis for problem solving. Knowing what is negatively affecting your partner, you can raise the issue in your own individual therapies to function better in the relationship and decide what is realistic to change.
Psychoeducation in the Context of Consultations
Meetings can also take the form of psychoeducation (in this case, two meetings are held). They help recognize feedback mechanisms in communication and attitudes towards each other.
After the consultation stage, which may last up to 8 meetings depending on the problem presented, regular meetings continue, treating them as long-term psychotherapy.
