About me – Paulina Kubś
Paulina Kubś
Psychologist, Sexual Disorder Psychotherapist, Cultural and Intercultural Psychologist
I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, sexual disorder psychotherapist, cultural and intercultural psychologist

Scientific paradigms from which I draw
I completed a 5-year master’s degree in Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. My research concerns such branches of psychology as: Biopsychology, Social Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Biopsychophysiology, Psychology of Memory and Learning, Psychology of Individual Differences or Projection Methods.
About me…
I am also interested in fields that assume a more interdisciplinary approach, such as: Health Psychology, knowledge of unconscious processes, especially at the level of metaphor and cultural records, or broadly understood Humanistic Psychology.
I am a member of the Polish Psychological Association, the Psychotherapy Section of the Polish Psychological Association and the Polish Society of Somatotherapy. After years of psychotherapeutic work with patients in crisis, I created my own method of work – Systemic-Cultural Interventional Psychotherapy.
I use my extensive knowledge and interests, which result not only from my studies, internships and trainings, but also from listening to patients’ stories, observing the work of teams of specialists and my own professional and personal self-development.
My passion for years has been cultural and religious studies, psychology of religion and cultural psychology. This allows me to combine knowledge from various theoretical disciplines.
I am interested in a person immersed in culture, i.e. someone who functions in a broad context/system, not only family, but also environmental, cultural, religious, spiritual and historical.
As a systemic psychotherapist, instead of working on associations, I use metaphor and symbol, referring to myths and knowledge of various religions and cultures. This knowledge helps me to see more than just the problems and symptoms of patients, but above all what function they play in a person’s life. I also provide a basis for guidelines that can help them get out of the crisis and learn to live anew.
Apart from my work, I deal with broadly understood intuitive art and working with animals after trauma.

I invite you to familiarize yourself with my certificates, which are a guarantee of professionalism and effectiveness of the therapeutic methods I use.

Education
My educational journey at the prestigious Jagiellonian University is the foundation of my therapeutic practice. It was here that I gained a solid education, which allowed me to explore the secrets of systemic and cultural psychotherapy and develop the skills necessary to work effectively with clients. The Jagiellonian University, being one of the oldest and most renowned universities in Europe, has provided me not only with theoretical knowledge, but also with practical experience, which is invaluable in my daily work. In this section, I would like to share with you the details of my education and how it has influenced my approach to psychotherapy.

What areas do I work in?
These are the three most important areas in which I operate, and there are many more areas in which I work and in which I can help – check the website in the Offer tab.

Family psychotherapy
Family consultations are a form of support for the individual psychotherapeutic process in cases where the participation of the family will allow for a better diagnosis of the problem.

Couples and Marriage Psychotherapy
It is a series of 8 meetings of a partner or married couple, whose relationship lasts at least a year. Their goal is to name the problem by the couple and then observe at what levels it occurs.
