Working method

About my therapeutic method

The main theoretical background of my method is systemic psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and Jungian analysis. I also rely on knowledge in the field of cultural psychology and such fields as cultural studies and religious studies.

My goal during the session is to build a safe therapeutic relationship, in which you achieve real goals in your time. They are understood in terms of increasing awareness of one’s decisions, taking responsibility for them, learning about individual boundaries and those that appear in relationships that are important to us. It is also about discovering your comfort zone and creating your own safety base to realize your potential.

Individual Approach and Methods of Therapy

I set high requirements for myself in the context of working in accordance with the ethics of my profession. Apart from the classic streams of psychotherapy, which I rely on above all, I also use other methods, depending on individual needs. This is related to the fact that I focus on the broader context of the problem that the person is reporting. I am also at the stage of creating my own method of work based on a combination of psychotherapy with work with the body, through art therapy and yoga.

Here are some examples of methods that I can suggest during the therapeutic process, based on the patient’s individual preferences:

  • elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, such as keeping a diary of experiences, thoughts, reflections,
  • art therapy, i.e. therapy through art (you don’t need to have a unique talent or be an artist),
  • relaxation and visualization tailored to individual needs,
  • If necessary, I also introduce elements of yoga, such as learning how to breathe properly. I also recommend simple, relaxing exercises that can be done at home with high tension in the body,
  • I also include elements of coaching in my method.

Since this often seems important to you in the therapeutic process, I emphasize that I am a believer. However, I do not work according to the standards of a Christian psychotherapist. In the face of the diversity of beliefs, religions of older and younger (including new religious movements), spiritual experiences and cultures, I remain in an attitude of openness and curiosity. The same applies to atheistic or agnostic attitudes.

I also pay attention to how adaptive they are, whether they deepen suffering, and whether they have their own individual boundaries.

I do not work with addicts whose period of abstinence is less than 6 months, as well as with their partners (co-addicts). I also do not work with people with profound personality disorders.
