Working with anger

Anger work is a form of support designed for people who feel that anger is starting to take control of their actions, relationships, and well-being. Depending on the cause and severity of the problem, it can take the form of short-term or long-term therapy.

What is anger?

Anger is a natural emotional reaction to situations in which a person feels threatened, violated by their own boundaries, injustice or failure to meet important needs. It can have a positive function, prompting them to change their position or take defensive measures.

However, when anger takes control of behavior, it becomes a problem and even a threat to the individual and their environment. This is facilitated by low mental resilience, lack of ability to control stress and long suppression of anger in oneself.

What does working with anger look like?

Anger control is a skill that can and should be developed. If he takes control of his life, it is worth using psychological support. Contact with a specialist allows you to better understand the reasons for your own reactions, which are not always obvious.

The tendency to aggression under the influence of anger can be the result of difficult or even traumatic experiences. In such a situation, a longer therapy is usually necessary, which allows you to work through the trauma, eliminate harmful behaviors and master the ability to cope with emotions. The same happens when the cause of the problem is, for example, personality disorders or DDD syndrome.

Relaxation techniques are often included in working with anger, which teach how to reduce tension in stressful situations.
