Psychotherapy using the IPSK method (Interventional Systemic-Cultural Psychotherapy)

Systemic-cultural psychotherapy

(Psychotherapy using the IPSK method – interventional systemic-cultural psychotherapy)

The IPSK method was created for people who have experienced long-term trauma and have a problem with creating a base for themselves that would provide them with support and avoid damaging some important area of functioning in their lives.

Patients receive guidelines that they should implement during psychotherapy. During the meetings, we set goals, diagnose difficult and unsatisfactory areas. As a result, the patient gains knowledge about how to take care of himself. This form of psychotherapy may be the basis for starting long-term psychotherapy or psychotherapy with another method. It has been going on since approx. half to a year and a half. The guidelines are both general and individually tailored.

Depending on the type of problem reported, it is good to have meetings twice a week for the first two months. We then reduce the frequency to one meeting per week for about three to six months. You can then schedule meetings every two weeks, or increase the frequency in case of an emergency. After this period, meetings can take place once a month, when the therapy takes on a final form. It is expected that therapy with this method should not last longer than a year or a year and a half.

However, it should be remembered that in the case of a borderline trait or when the defense mechanisms associated with personality disorders are clear and there is a risk of self-harm, etc., therapy can last up to seven or ten years with varying frequency, including twice a week for the first years.
